How much does teeth whitening cost?
The cost of teeth whitening treatments can range from pocket change to hundred of pounds. How much you pay will depend on which of the available teeth whitening methods you opt for.
Here's our run down of the costs you can expect when it comes to whitening your teeth.
How much whiter do you want your teeth to be?
If the answer is "the very whitest possible" then you'll need to opt for whitening at a dental clinic as only dentists are permitted to use the technology and chemicals required to obtain the whitest smile. If however you're simply looking for slightly brighter or cleaner looking teeth then you can probably get by with regular use of toothpaste, mouthwash and whitening strips that are labelled "whitening". These products can be found in just about any supermarket of shop that stocks cosmetic products such as Boots or Superdrug.
Whitening at a dental clinic
Having your teeth whitened by a dentist will guarantee you the very best results but it will also cost more than treatments that you can buy on the high street. The reason is because the dentist will use peroxide levels and whitening technology that only they are permitted to use. Expect costs to be in the region of £400 for a whitening kit or £500 for laser teeth whitening
Whitening at home
Whitening at home is the cheapest option and typically involves using one of the following:
- A whitening kit (roughly £500) that you can buy from your dentist
- Whitening strips (£10-£50) that are available from most supermarkets
- Whitening toothpastes, mouth wash and toothbrushes (£1+)
