Scale and polish treatment involves an extensive cleaning of your teeth and gum line to remove plaque or calculus (tartar) that may have built up over time.

Depending on the amount of cleaning required you may need more than 1 visit. Regular patients are typically advised as to how many sessions are required during their check up.

In addition to cleaning the dentist or hygienist will advise as to how best to minimise future build ups or plaque, calculus and staining. If there is anything that we're unable to remove then we may advise cosmetic treatment if it is something that is of interest to you.
