How do celebrities whiten their teeth?
It doesn’t matter whether its a TV presenter, movie star, singer or politician, just about everyone who is famous for the right or wrong reasons seem to have pearly white teeth. So the obvious question is how do they get and keep them so white? Here are their secrets that you too can use to have a fabulous red carpet smile.
First up the quirky but effective stuff.
Bold lipstick
This is one for the girls but guys can feel free to go for it too! A bold lipstick (as far away from yellow as possible!) will make your teeth appear whiter. Obviously your teeth will never change colour but this is a basic lighting trick that celebrities have adopted for decades.
Banana peel
The peel of just ripe banana’s is packed with potassium, magnesium, manganese, calcium and vitamin D. “So what?” I hear you say. The first three can help whiten your teeth when you rub the inside of the peel against your teeth for a couple of minutes and the last two ingredients will strengthen your teeth and help them absorb the good stuff that whitens your teeth. Just make sure you brush and rinse after.
Eat crunchy vegetables
Chewing crunchy vegetables like carrots, broccoli, parsnip etc will not only be good for your body but they’ll help scrub short term stains from your teeth. Now if that's not an excuse to eat healthy then we don’t know what it.
And now the quick and effective options.
Get an electric toothbrush
As long as you’re brushing twice a day dentists won’t tell you off but if you want to get the very best clean then you’re going to need an electric toothbrush. There are lots out there and quite honestly they all do a very good job. You get what you pay for so buy the best one you can afford but don’t be concerned if a base level one is all you can afford right now. If you’re used to using a manual toothbrush then you’ll notice a difference almost immediately.
Consider using “whitening products”
Consult a dentist as your current dental condition may not be suitable for certain products but switching regular dental hygiene products such as your toothbrush, toothpaste and mouthwash for “whitening” versions of these products can make it easier to stay on top of stains. They won’t massively increase the whiteness of your teeth though and they can increase sensitivity so be warned.
